Editing a Squidoo Lense, I had a brain storm of an idea.  Now having brilliant ideas is not new for me, well they are brilliant at the moment and all too often begin to lose their brilliance within moments.

Ok, here is the idea I had … changing my squidoo screen name.  I added a poll on my Lensography Lens and will accept opinions until next Friday April 4th before deciding.

Lensography is a unique phrase that originated with thefluffanutta a squidoo lens master.  What a lensography is in reality is a Squidoo Lens Biography that consists of a list of your lenses on squidoo and information about yourself.

I am a little embarrased to admit that until the other day I had not heard of a Squidoo Lensography.  I found it when Jaguar Julie Lensography was chosen as the lens of the day.  I went to her lens and discovered the power of lensography.

One of the hardest things when you have a number of lenses on squidoo is promoting your lenses.  If you go to forums you can’t list 10 or 20 lenses in you resource box.  When you sign guest books, you can not leave a long list of lenses there for traffic.  The simple answer for promoting your work on squidoo is a single lens url to promote.  “Enter the Lensography”.  If you have a lensography and you go to a forum and the forum readers might be interested in a topic or perhaps more that you have lenses on, you can simply put your lensography url in the forum signature box. Simple solution to a complex problem.

I decided to creat a lensography for my squidoo lenses “DMedley The Lensography“.  By the time I completed the basic layout of the lensography, I had discovered a couple things.

1st - I had more lenses than I thought.  I actually have 30 lenses on squidoo including my 3 newest lenses.

2.  Who is Frank Zane
3.  Who is Steve Reeves

2nd - The lensography is a great guide and map for lens creation.  When you create category listings you begin to see topics that are under-represented or the possibility for creating new topic categories.

Yes incase you are wondering, I am still hung up on creating squidoo lenses.  I currently have a goal of creating 50 lenses.  Does that sound excessive?  Well not by squidoo standards its not.  Remember Jaguar Julie that I mentioned in the beginning?  Well Jaguar Julie has 303 lenses at the time of writing this and there are actually squidoo lens masters that have many, many more lenses that Jaguar Julie.

Yes, I am still caught up with creating squidoo lenses.  I love article marketing and squidoo is a great tool for publishing articles.  My experiment with squidoo has gone extremely well, actually a lot better than I had hoped for.  January brought me in a 3 figure income from 11 squidoo lenses.  This amount was the total of Squidoo Revenue Sharing and Affiliate sales.

When you realize this is from actually writing 11 articles, I think you will agree its pretty good.  How often do any of us write an article that pays 25 dollars or more for a month?

The advantage of this is next month those same 11 articles could again generate a 3 figured income… How much am I really making for those 11 articles?

Now like most things there is the 80% of results coming from 20% of the effort and this experiment is no different.  3 of the article accounted for the majority of the revenue and 3 articles generated 0.  The other 5 generated very little.

I am still on the hunt for my next project so that also accounts for my creating more lenses on squidoo.  I now have a system that allows me to create a lens in about 4 hours and then I spend the rest of the day hunting.
